We got our start on London’s Jermyn Street, working alongside Robert Emmett, one of the city’s finest shirtmakers. As a guide and a mentor, he taught us nearly everything that we know about shirtmaking. Before we set off to start Ledbury, he passed down some profound advice: “Be the best, make the best, and the rest will follow.”

These words quickly became a guiding principle for our business. In order for us to be the best and make the best, we needed to surround ourselves with the finest craftspeople and artisans in the world.

That search led us to hundred-year-old textile mills and small European factories that have a generational understanding of quality and craftsmanship.

Over the years we have developed deep relationships with these men and women, who have become not only partners, but also colleagues and friends. Their background and their stories are important to tell. Their stories are the Ledbury story.

In 2015, we took the lessons learned from our European partners and revived one of America’s oldest bespoke shirtmakers in our hometown of Richmond, Virginia. Today, we carry on a century-old tailoring tradition in our Richmond workshop, where our master craftsmen make shirts by hand.

Rooted in tradition and set apart by innovation, Ledbury is defining the next generation of clothing brands. We’re on a mission to create the world’s greatest garments and the results speak for themselves.
