The Ledbury The Improved Gin and TonicThe Catherine Bach We recently caught up with T. and Brandon, the men behind the bar of The Roosevelt — a restaurant we occasionally mention on our blog from time to time. The Roosevelt hosts one of the best-managed bars in Richmond, and enjoying a cocktail or two at the restaurant is always a pleasure. Ranging from fruity to bitter, the pair served up a few classic mixes as well as several new favorites, including The Ledbury, which was specially crafted for our Retail Re-launch party we hosted several months ago. The cocktails were fantastic, but don’t just take our word for it. If you are outside of Richmond and unable to make it to The Roosevelt, we included recipes so you can make the drinks at home.
The Ledbury
  • 1.5 oz Bulleit Bourbon
  • 2 oz Orange Rosemary Apple Cider
  • 2 Dashes Angostura bitters
Shaken and poured over ice. Garnish with rosemary sprig.
The Improved Gin and Tonic
  • 1 3/4 oz Citadelle Gin
  • 3/4 oz Jack Rudy's Small Batch Tonic Syrup
Add both to Collins glass, fill with ice and add cold soda water to the top. Garnish with a lime wedge.
The Scuppernong Sour
  • 1 1/2 oz Larceny Bourbon
  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • Egg White
  • Heaping Bar Spoon of Scuppernong Jam (Wild Grape Native to the South)
Shake all ingredients without ice to emulsify, then with ice. Strain into chilled cocktail glass and drop in some angostura bitters.
The Catherine Bach
  • 1 1/2 oz Wild Turkey Rye
  • 1/2 oz Galliano
  • 1/2 oz Cassis (Black Currant Liqueur)
  • 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Shake with ice and strain into ice filled rocks glass. Garnish with lime wheel.
The Roosevelt is located at 623 N 25th Steet in Richmond’s Churchill neighborhood. Visit their website to read the complete cocktail menu. Cheers! *Brandon is wearing our Blue and Brown Townsend and T. is in our Red Colton Gingham.
