Throughout the years, we've been asked countless times about the release of Ledbury Ties. We're happy to report that today marks the release of our first neckwear collection.
Much like our shirts and blazers, our search for the right fabric mills and factories followed a simple rule “use the best fabric and work with the best craftsmen.” That search led us back to Northern Italy to a series of mills and a small factory outside of Como.
The finest bowties and neckties have been coming out of Italy for over a century and the country’s mills really are the worlds best when it comes to silks, prints and innovative weaves. All of our neckties are hand made by craftsmen whose families have been making them for generations. Italians themselves are always at the forefront of tie trends—we spotted dozens of men rocking the
wide tie last time we were in Pitti Uomo.
To serve as a natural compliment to our shirting, we are keeping the style of our ties clean and classic. We focused on texture and muted colors for fall to add balance to the bolder fabrics and patterns we use in our shirts. In terms of feel and texture, we are releasing an incredibly soft tie in 100% cashmere and several woven silks, as well as a few thick, loosely woven knits that we love.
Our neckties were designed to be versatile and function as well in the office as they would on an evening out or at a wedding. As we are obsessed with shirts, our belief is that the tie shouldn’t be the focal point of a well-dressed man, but should be the seamless compliment to a sharp and effortless look.
