Each June we pack up our bags and head to Florence for Pitti Uomo, one of the world’s largest menswear shows. It’s a masterclass in how men’s clothes should be done with the best European and international brands on display. It’s a chance for us to spend some long days and even longer nights with our mills, factories and other friends from around the world. And a humbling reminder that two guys from Virginia could be a lot better dressed… A few highlights: Land in Rome, night in Trastevere, reggae with Romans and the Euro Cup. Train to Florence and on to Pitti where it’s as hot as VA, but Italians dressed in sport coats. Last year’s white pants are now grey. Lots of prints, knit ties, blue blazers, and double breasted jackets. Standouts: Hancock: sport coat rain jackets, Gold Brothers loafers, Luigi Bianchi suiting and a saxophonist at the Cantarelli display. Big names there, but fewer Americans. Night out with the Drakes crew and the Australians. Beers with Emmett. Car to Tuscany, weekend in Chianti, R&R. Then return to reality, blazing in VA, less Italians in sports coats… Images of Pitti Hancock Gold Brothers Drakes
