By now, you’ve hopefully shed your heavier clothes in favor of lightweight fabrics. After all, Memorial Day is behind us and summer is no time for discomfort in the sun. With warm weather on our minds, we took inventory of our Short Run offerings and noted a few of our favorite shirts that will be getting us through the spring and summer. When it comes to fabrics, nothing says "summer" like linen. The textile’s crisp texture absorbs perspiration and doesn’t cling to the skin, allowing air to circulate around the body. We have a handful of linen shirts available in our collection of Short Run. For great seasonal color, we’ve introduced the Purple Wilton Linen. If you’re headed to any casual events this summer, we recommend considering the Green Armour Check or the Corwin Linen Plaid. Wear any of these shirts with a light-color pair of chinos and an unlined blazer for a sophisticated look. Another ideal summer fabric, particularly in the South, is seersucker. We took a nod from our southern roots and lent the fabric that is traditionally used for suits and sport coats to our Benedict Seersucker Stripe shirt. This shirt breathes easily and pairs perfectly with the Tan Amherst Sport Coat and the Blue Grant Tie. The McDaniel Chambray is a staple of our Core Collection and we’re excited to introduce another shirt constructed from the iconic summer fabric with our Clayton Chambray shirt. Chambray is a lightweight fabric that is often woven with a blue warp and a white weft, but we crafted the Clayton Chambray from bright red Italian woven cotton. Next week, we will be releasing a navy linen box-check shirt, and perhaps the most vibrant Ledbury shirt yet, a colorful striped oxford cloth-shirt. Throughout the next couple of months, we have several plaids, gingham and several lightweight shirts that we are thrilled to release. In the mean time, beat the heat and shop our seasonal Short Run shirts.
