Richmond is exploding with ride share services and alternate transportation options. Cabell Rosanelli has a lot to do with that. As Lyft's Market Manager for the city, he's got a vision to keep traffic down and make getting around convenient and enjoyable. We sat down with him for our 3 Questions, and got to hear a bit more about what he enjoys most working for the fastest growing ride share company in the U.S.
What do you do and what do you find most rewarding about it?
I'm Lyft's Market Manager in Richmond, VA. I'm in charge of our strategy and operations on the ground - everything from passenger and driver acquisition and engagement to local marketing efforts. The most rewarding part of my job is hearing from drivers and passengers how our service fits into their lives; there are some of the amazing stories I've heard from both groups. Fun fact: I'm a Lyft driver and have experienced much of this firsthand.
What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
At the age of 20, I was a student-athlete at The College of William & Mary. I'm torn between whether I'd tell my 20-year-old self to emphasize the 'student' or the 'athlete' part of that more...I think I'm going to go with the latter. I'd tell myself to really soak it all in. Those five years as an NCAA athlete were really formative - you can always take classes after graduation but you can't compete beyond your eligibility.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of perfect happiness is being outdoors - I spend a lot of time running and cycling, though my favorite fall outdoor activity is hiking in the mountains of Virginia with my girlfriend, Emma, and our 11-month old Vizsla, Millie.
