David Cuttino is an electrical engineer, turned bond trader, turned distillery man. Several different turns landed him in the business, but he shares a couple things with Ledbury's story: he apprenticed a master in the industry to learn the business, and started off in the midst of the financial crisis of '08 and came out on top. We sat down over a glass of his luxury whiskey to hear his response to our 3 Questions.
What do you do and what do you find most rewarding about it?
We make happiness in a bottle, whiskey! We built Reservoir completely from scratch entirely sourced and produced in Virginia . That is very hard to do. It feels really good to point to our whiskey and say yes 100% Virginia for the last 10 years!
What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
Be risky and don’t let what you don’t know slow you down.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Music blaring, whiskey in hand, animals underfoot, dancing and cooking with the entire family crammed into my tiny kitchen.
