Ledbury Lab: Design a Shirt
We are in a kind of lucky predicament where we have the liberty to design clothes we love, clothes we want to wear, and clothes our friends and family love. Our Richmond-based workshop is our space to truly experiment with our collections - each shirt is crafted by hand by our Master Patternmaker Abel Mendoza Diaz and made in extremely limited quantities. (Learn more about our talented Master Patternmaker here.)
We recently got our hands on limited yardage of premium linen fabric from Albini, one of the premiere Italian mills we source much of our fabric from. Albini linen originates from the flax fields of Normandy and is processed in the Bergamo region of Italy. For more of a deep dive into where our favorite warm-weather fabric comes from, make sure to read this post.
Now here’s the fun part: For our upcoming release we want YOUR feedback to design our upcoming Linen Collection. Fancy a popover with a button-down collar and striped linen? A short-sleeve shirt in the microdot linen with a chest pocket? The possibilities are endless. And by commenting, you get to play an integral part in the design process. Here's a few ideas we've gotten from you thus far:
- @liftcoffee: "Short-sleeve button down in the microdot blue linen."
- @jdeitz: "Blue and white geometric short sleeve with a pocket"
- @matthypes: "A popover with a band collar in any of those fabrics would be awesome. Short sleeve linen shirts would be sweet too!"
