Earlier this month, our neighbors across town at Need Supply Co. hosted an event with Raan and Shea Parton, brothers and founders of Apolis Global, introducing Apolis' traveling Nomad Market installation to Need Supply Co.'s brick and mortar store. Apolis translates to “global citizen.” The brand was founded in 2004 based on the simple idea that people could live better lives if given equal access to opportunity. With their hands-on business model, Apolis bridges commerce with microeconomic development through co-creating products with manufactures, whether crafted in their native city of Los Angeles, or abroad in countries such as Uganda, Peru, or Bangladesh. The Nomad Market is an impressive traveling installation –complete with a full sized tent that was set up in the middle of Need Supply’s showroom - presenting products, films, and stories from Apolis Global. The evening included a Question and Answer session with the founders where they touched on creating a global business, traveling the world, and the philosophy of advocacy through industry. From their courier bags to work jackets, the people at Apolis are creating many thoughtful and incredibly crafted products. Apolis is an innovative company fueled by a great mission.
