The Cement Stretch Canvas Franklin 5 Pocket Custom Pant

I'm almost embarrassed by how many pairs of pants I have. I'm just very picky about fit. I've used custom sizing before from other companies but the quality was lacking, especially after washing them. The pocket would fold or fabric around the crotch would bunch up. But so far the Ledbury pants have performed very well. There's just enough stretch in them to be comfortable without being baggy. I am a very hard person to fit so I have to use custom sizing, like a 31 inseam, otherwise I'm going to have to take them for alteration. But these came in perfect in the seat and length. I'm looking forward to ordering more.

I bought these pants expecting trousers. What I received was a lifestyle, a philosophy, and possibly a small tax deduction.

Let's talk about the stretch canvas. I did a full squat in a parking lot to pick up a dropped set of keys — the kind of squat that has historically ended relationships with lesser pants — and these Franklins simply allowed it. No dramatic seam tension. No that-ominous-quiet-before-a-rip. Just quiet, tan cooperation.

The color is what I'd call "responsible adventurer." Tan says, "I could go to a work meeting, but I could also spontaneously look at a canyon." It pairs with literally everything, which is a problem, because now I have no excuse not to get dressed.

Five pockets, and I'd like to formally thank each one. Two hands, two back, and that little fifth pocket that no one has used since 1987 but that I keep around out of tradition and hope.

The "custom" fit is where they got me. These pants fit like they interviewed my legs beforehand and took notes. Somewhere, a tailor knows my inseam better than my own mother does, and I've made peace with that.

Docking exactly zero stars, but be warned: you will become the kind of person who says "oh these? they're just my Franklins" a little too casually. It's insufferable. I've fully embraced it.

Would squat in a parking lot again. 10/10.

First pair of Ledbury pants I've purchased. Well constructed 5-pocket pants, sturdy fabric, beautiful color, comfortable fit. Stretch is subtle—still feel like pants. Belt loops are a little small for my favorite 1.75" belt, but fit with some effort. The rise feels a little lower than most pants I wear, but they sit fine around my hips and waist. Will purchase again in other colors.
