How to Measure


Find a shirt that fits your body well and get ready to measure

01. Neck Size

Measure body, not shirt. 

Measure the circumference of your neck with two fingers between your neck and the measuring tape for a comfortable fit. Make sure that the angle of the measuring tape follows the direction a collar would naturally sit on your neck and falls under the Adam's apple. 

02. Sleeve Length

With your shirt still buttoned, flip it over so it faces down. Start by measuring from the center of the neck at the base of the collar seam. From that point, extend the measuring tape down the sleeve all the way to the end of the cuff. This is your sleeve length measurement. No need to add for shrinkage - we've done that for you. If you are between sizes, go with the longer of your possible measurements.

03. Shirt Chest

Make sure your shirt is buttoned and lay it flat. Measure from the armhole at the side seam across to the other side. Multiply that number by 2 to get the shirt chest measurement.

04. Shirt Waist

With your shirt laid flat, measure across the side seam of the the slimmest part of the shirt (which should be about halfway between the armhole and the hem). Multiply that number by 2 to get the shirt waist measurement.

05. Front Body Length

With your shirt facing up and laid flat, measure down the center of the front of the shirt. Start where the collar meets the placket (where the buttons are sewn on) and measure down to the bottom seam. That length is your front body length measurement.

06. Back Length

Lay your shirt flat, facing down. Start from the center of the back of the collar, where the collar band meets the neck seam. Measure down the back center of the shirt all the way to the bottom of the hem. That measurement is your shirt back body length.

Polo Fit Guide

Slim Fit is cut closer to the body, designed for those who prefer a narrower cut. We recommend Slim Fit for those who wear our Extra Slim and Tailored Fit shirts. Regular Fit is a roomier cut, which we recommend for those who wear our Contemporary and Classic Fit shirts. 

If you purchased a polo before April 2024, it is a Regular Fit.

Button Cuff enables you to adjust the wrist fit to accommodate a watch. 
              
French Cuffs are designed to be worn with cufflinks (cufflinks not included)

Selecting "yes" will add a pocket to the left chest of the shirt.

Ledbury Shirt Body Lengths

  • Tucked Regular: our original body length, used since the creation of the Made to Order program. Ideal for men 5'10" and taller, with the perfect amount of fabric to ensure your shirt stays tucked throughout the day. If you did not make customizations to a previous Ledbury dress shirt, liked the length, and plan to tuck your shirt in, select this option. 
  • Tucked Short: a newer tucked body length best suited for men 5'9" and under. This option measures just under 2 inches (4.5cm) less than the Tucked Regular, reducing excess fabric while still maintaining the proper shape and keeping your shirt securely tucked.
  • Untucked Regular: a balanced hem designed to be worn untucked, and recommended for men 5'10" and taller. This body length was previously called "Untucked 5'10" & Over" or Short Body. 
  • Untucked Short: a balanced hem designed to be worn untucked, with a slightly reduced length for a more proportional fit. Recommended for men 5'9" and under. This body length was previously called "Untucked 5'9" & Under" or Extra Short Body.

How to Measure

Everyone needs one great tuxedo shirt, and this is it. Made from our luxurious Sanders White Fine Twill with non-iron finish so you won’t need to worry about wrinkles. This fabric is midweight, holds its shape incredibly well, and is never sheer. It’s the perfect smooth fabric for the best tuxedo shirt. A removeable button band that enables the shirt to be worn with your favorite studs or with the buttons. Additionally, we have hidden the button below the removable button band within the placket to allow this tuxedo shirt to be worn without a cummerbund so that only the top studs will show. Jacket on or off – this tuxedo shirt is a winner.

      Good Formal Shirt

      I needed a new formal shirt and took a chance ordering unseen from Ledbury. One reason I did is Ledbury's customization. Arm lengths go up in 1/2 inch increments, which I never saw before, and there were several different collars as well as four different fits.. I chose contemporary and it fit perfectly. The quality of the shirt is very good and it has the advantage of being washable so I may take it when I travel. The only qualms I have are that it is a little difficult to button the top button, although I suspect the buttonhole will loosen the more I use it, and the pleats probably should be lightly ironed after washing.
