The Details Matter / Socks
We founded Ledbury with the idea that we could make the most incredible products and offer them at an unparalleled value. We cut our teeth in shirtmaking and learned a tremendous amount along the way. Eventually, we expanded to sport coats, sweaters, and accessories, but never lost that commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Whether it’s a shirt constructed from Italian fabric or a sweater made from Scottish cashmere, we make products that we stand behind. Throughout the fall, we will have several product releases that we can’t wait to share with you. Just recently, we introduced our Fall 2014 Tailored Collection of Sport Coats, and up next, we have our first batch of seasonal socks. Yeah, we know, a pair of socks may sound less compelling than a 100% virgin wool sport coat, but there are plenty of reasons why we’re stoked.
We’ve said it before, but it’s worth saying again: details matter. When dressing for the day, consider the sock as the final aspect of a well-thought-out outfit. Sure, the ankle may be the region that gets the least attention, but it’s an important place of sartorial real estate that you shouldn’t overlook. You’re probably familiar with the basic rule of sock wearing – matching the color of your socks to the color of your pants. We’ve found that following this guideline works for most occasions, both formal and professional. Aside from that, there’s plenty of opportunity to put your touch on the arrangement.
This fall, we’re introducing a few new styles and bringing back some old favorites. The Green and Taupe Elden Sock reflects the earth tones of the season. Consider pairing this piece with a light brown suede buck shoe and navy chinos. The navy contrasts the earth tone and the brown suede anchors the look. If you’re looking for socks with a little personality, look no further than argyle. Our Layton Argyle Sock comes in a handful of colors, including blue with a red and yellow pattern. If you’re in need of a dressier sock, our Beckett Micro Dot and Keswick styles are great options. They come in a variety of colors as well and will complement any outfit.
We encourage you to further refine and develop your personal style, so in the process, why not show your ankles some love too? Greet socks with the same level of enthusiasm as your outfit’s other complementing accessories – the necktie, belt, and pocket square.
